FAQ

Questions are part of the process.

A few practical answers before you begin.

Is this Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?

Classical Thread practices Chinese medicine, but the clinical emphasis is not standardized, protocol-driven TCM. The approach is shaped by Japanese Meridian Therapy, classical channel theory, palpation, pulse and abdominal diagnosis, and individualized treatment.

Do you treat cancer?

No claim is made to cure or directly treat cancer. Classical Thread offers supportive, complementary care for people during or after oncology treatment, with attention to symptoms, comfort and quality of life where appropriate. Oncology care remains central.

Is the needling strong?

Often it is quite gentle. Japanese Meridian Therapy can use very fine needles, shallow or subtle stimulation, and non-insertive tools such as teishin. The amount of stimulation is adapted to the person.

Do I need to choose between acupuncture and herbal medicine?

No. The first question is what is appropriate for the current pattern and medical context. Some people receive acupuncture only, some herbs, some adjunctive methods, and some a combination.

Can I continue my medications?

Yes. Do not stop prescribed medications because of complementary care. Current medications and supplements should be disclosed so care can be coordinated safely, especially when herbs are being considered.

What should I bring if my history is complicated?

A medication and supplement list, major diagnoses, surgeries, relevant imaging or laboratory information, and current specialist or oncology treatment details can be helpful. You do not need to organize your history perfectly.

How many visits will I need?

There is no honest universal answer. Frequency depends on the concern, chronicity, treatment burden, response and goals. Care should be reassessed rather than continued automatically.

STILL UNSURE?

Ask the question you actually have.

A short inquiry is enough to begin.
