Some begin with us. Others are gathered along the way.
Thread by thread, our experiences become part of us: the bodies we inherit. The food we eat. The places we call home. The work we do. The people we love. Illness. Recovery. Loss. Change. The passing of seasons and years.
Together, these threads form a living blueprint—one that is inherited, shaped by experience, and continually changing.
Chinese medicine offers a way of reading that blueprint without reducing a person to a single symptom. It asks how the pieces relate: what is rooted in constitution, what has changed over time, and where the body may be asking for support.
At Classical Thread, we listen through conversation, pulse and abdominal diagnosis, touch, and the channels of the body. We draw from classical Chinese medicine, Japanese Meridian Therapy, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, and food therapy to meet the person as they are now.
Because two people can carry the same diagnosis and live entirely different stories.
The diagnosis is part of the picture. The person is the whole.

PRIMARY AREAS OF CARE
Classical Thread is intentionally oriented toward health stories that are layered, persistent, medically complex, or difficult to reduce to one diagnosis.
For persistent symptoms, fluctuating function, pain, fatigue, digestive changes, sleep disruption, recovery difficulty, and the cumulative burden of living with illness over time.

“I came to Chinese medicine through more than one path.”
Before medicine, I trained in accounting and taught yoga. One taught me to look for structure and relationships; the other taught me to pay attention to what the body communicates before words catch up. Chinese medicine brought those instincts together.
My clinical experience includes medically complex patients in outpatient and hospital settings, deepening my interest in chronic illness, supportive cancer care, pain, recovery, and the quiet diagnostic precision of Japanese and classical approaches.
THE CLINICAL THREAD
Complex illness rarely behaves like a single isolated problem. Classical medicine gives us a language for relationships: what has lost rhythm, what is constrained, what is depleted, and where the body still has capacity to respond.
Pulse, abdomen, channels and tissue are used as living information—not merely as a checklist of signs.
Symptoms are interpreted in relationship to constitution, history, treatment burden and the current state of the body.
Every visit asks what shifted. Treatment is adjusted to the response rather than repeated by habit.
WHAT CARE FEELS LIKE
There is room for diagnoses, medications, surgeries, treatment history, symptoms that do not fit neatly, and what has changed over time.
Pulse, abdomen and channels are palpated. The goal is to find a coherent pattern rather than chase every symptom separately.
Needles, teishin, moxa, herbs, cupping or hands-on methods are used only when they fit the person’s current capacity.
We pay attention to what changes during and after treatment, then let that response guide the next visit.
WAYS WE WORK
Treatment is selected for the pattern present today. You do not need to decide which modality you need before your visit.
A gentler approach to acupuncture emphasizing subtle pulse and channel diagnosis, root treatment, and precise stimulation with needles or non-insertive tools such as teishin.
Discover Japanese Meridian Therapy →Negative pressure is applied to the skin to create a distinctive sensory input and support a treatment plan for areas of muscular tension, stiffness, and restricted movement.
Learn about cupping →The traditional therapeutic use of warmth from processed mugwort, applied with care according to the person, the pattern, and the treatment goal.
Learn about moxibustion →Herbal formulas made personal: selected as structured combinations and adjusted as symptoms, constitution, medications, and the clinical picture change.
Explore herbal medicine →CLASSICAL, NOT PROTOCOL-DRIVEN TCM
Classical Thread uses “Chinese medicine” broadly, but the practice is specifically shaped by classical channel theory, individualized pattern diagnosis and Japanese approaches to palpation and root treatment—not by a fixed protocol attached to a biomedical disease label.
INTEGRATIVE CARE
For cancer and other serious or chronic conditions, this work is intended to sit alongside appropriate medical care. We do not advise stopping oncology treatment, prescribed medications, or specialist care.
Cancer care on this site refers to supportive symptom and quality-of-life care. It does not claim to cure or directly treat cancer.
PATIENT EXPERIENCES
Patient stories offer a glimpse into how care can feel and what individuals noticed in their own experience.
“I had complained of low energy and erectile dysfunction. This time, I noticed. When I was in a sexual situation, I was able to get an erection—which hadn’t happened in a long time. Was it the treatment? I believe it was.”
