Medicine

Ancient wisdom for modern lives.

Classical herbal medicine is a living tradition—refined through observation, pattern recognition, and individualized care. Formulas are selected and adjusted for the person in front of us, not simply for the name of a diagnosis.

THE FORMULA

Whole formula.
Whole person.

A classical formula is not a bag of ingredients chosen one by one for isolated symptoms. It is a structured relationship among herbs, designed around a pattern.

Two people with the same biomedical diagnosis may receive very different formulas because their presentations are different. Pulse, abdomen, digestion, sleep, temperature, pain, energy, constitution, medications, treatment history, and the way symptoms change over time all matter.

As the presentation changes, the formula may also change. This is especially important in chronic illness, where the body’s priorities can shift through periods of treatment, recovery, stress, and adaptation.

Herbal medicine may be used on its own or alongside Japanese Meridian Therapy and other medical care when appropriate.

SAFETY IN COMPLEX CARE

More medicine requires more attention.

For people living with cancer, chronic disease, multiple prescriptions, or significant changes in organ function, herbal care needs to be careful and coordinated.

Medication interactions, laboratory values, upcoming procedures, oncology treatment, pregnancy, and changes in liver or kidney function can all affect whether a formula is appropriate. In some situations, the safest decision is not to use herbs.

ONLINE HERBAL CONSULTATIONS

Your herbal consultation, wherever you are.

For eligible locations, online consultation can make individualized Chinese herbal care available beyond the local clinic while preserving the same careful attention to history, medications, safety, and change over time.

01

Tell the whole story

We review your main concerns together with digestion, sleep, temperature, energy, pain, medical history, medications, supplements, and relevant laboratory information.

02

Build the pattern

The consultation looks for relationships among symptoms rather than treating each complaint as an isolated problem.

03

Consider a formula

When herbal treatment is appropriate, a formula is selected or modified for the current presentation rather than chosen only by diagnosis name.

04

Follow the change

Herbal care is iterative. Follow-up considers what improved, what changed, what did not, and whether the formula should be continued, adjusted, or stopped.

Availability varies by location. Online consultation, herbal recommendation, dispensing, and shipping are subject to applicable professional, pharmacy, import, and local regulations. Eligibility is confirmed before care begins.

PATIENT EXPERIENCE · HERBAL MEDICINE

“I felt calm, relaxed, and fully heard.”

“I drove two and a half hours for my very first Traditional Chinese Medicine consultation, and Dongchen made the journey completely worth it. From the moment I arrived, his welcoming demeanor made me feel calm, relaxed, and fully heard. His assessment—checking my tongue and pulse on both arms—was spot-on, and his insights into my health were remarkably accurate. The 7-day herbal prescription he prepared made a noticeable difference, leaving me feeling so much better and significantly improving my overall well-being. I highly recommend Dongchen to anyone seeking a skilled, compassionate Chinese Medicine practitioner!”
